A Piece of My Heart: Breaking Down Valentine's Day Shopping Habits

February 14th is right around the corner, and while pink and red bouquets and heart-shaped boxes still come to mind, Valentine's Day will most definitely look different in 2021. With shoppers staying close to home, it's certainly harder to hide a gift from your special someone, and working from home may mean fewer commuters making a last-minute dash for flowers. To see what shoppers have planned, we asked 500+ U.S. consumers about their shopping plans this Valentine's Day and found that retail love is in the air.

The vast majority of those who plan to purchase (67%) will be shopping for their partners, while one quarter (25%) are planning to treat themselves. As well, one-third (34%) plan to purchase for their families, 16% for a friend, and 2% for others.
