Oracle Volunteers help restore the planet during Focus on Environment

Awareness of our impact on nature is greater than ever. The spread of the novel coronavirus across the globe, unprecedented storms and wildfires, and oceans and waterways polluted with plastics, make it clear that we have healing work to do.

Oracle supports employees to be good stewards of the planet and build stronger communities. During March and April, Oracle's Focus on Environment initiative is inviting employees to roll up their sleeves and take action for a healthy planet. While we may not be able to gather together, Oracle Volunteers continue to step up and find innovative ways to help, both big and small.

With the knowledge that the ocean sustains life for all 7.8 billion people on earth and is home to hundreds of thousands of marine species, Oracle Volunteers and their families around the world are picking up trash along the shores of their beaches and local waterways as part of our global cleanup event with Ocean Conservancy.

For those employees not near a shoreline, cleanups are taking place around local neighborhoods and parks. Through these cleanup events, we're helping to protect marine life and the ocean ecosystem as a whole by preventing manmade items such as plastic bags, glass bottles, and other litter from eventually making their way to the sea via waterways and storm drains.
