Integration's role in accelerating recovery explored at Oracle Hospitality Virtual Connect

At a time when hoteliers must offer new products and services faster than ever before to engage guests, nothing's worse than complicated integrations that hinder the process.

What's needed is a self-service platform that's virtually as easy to use as Facebook. In other words, just log in and go.

Which is exactly what Oracle Hospitality Integration Platform (OHIP) allows hoteliers and hospitality technology vendors to do.

"OHIP is a platform just like any other platform that you come across, like YouTube or Facebook," said Luis Weir, Oracle Hospitality's senior director, integrations and API strategy. "You don't have to ring an IT department just to open an account or get help. It's all self-service."

Simplifying integrations to bring innovations faster to market. It's a necessity for hoteliers striving to accelerate their recovery in post-pandemic times – and it was the focal point of the final day of Oracle Hospitality Virtual Connect. The three-day webinar, which ended Sept. 15, gathered Oracle Hospitality's top executives, customers, and partners to discuss the role Oracle initiatives and solutions could play in reinvigorating the industry.

During his session, Weir highlighted the rapid progress made within the past year by OHIP. Launched in late 2020, the integration platform allows partners and vendors to connect to OPERA Cloud Property Management system, giving them unimpeded access to the data and functionality within it for faster product development.

OHIP represents a reinvention of Oracle's integration model: It enables innovations that improve hotel operations and elevate guest experience and makes them available in a matter of days and weeks, rather than months and years.
