In 2021 alone, third-party (3P) marketplace sales accounted for 67% of global ecommerce, with the top online marketplaces in the world selling $3.23 trillion in goods, according to Digital Commerce 360. Meanwhile, the direct-to-consumer (DTC) ecommerce market grew from $36.08 billion in 2016 to $128.33 billion in 2021, reports eMarketer. And U.S. social commerce surpassed $30 billion.
