In March 2020, nearly every higher education institution in North America moved to virtual operations for teachers, students, and staff-all in less than a two-week span. This heroic and unprecedented achievement has already reshaped much of our understanding of the educational experience-and transformed the very notion of "the work of the institution" itself.
