OAC maps in Classic (Answers) can now source their metadata from ADW

Map visualizations in Oracle Analytics Classic (Answers) leverage a MapViewer server embarked within OAC instances. This MapViewer server sources its map backgrounds and map layers metadata directly from tables in an underlying database. These metadata tables can now directly be hosted into any ADW (Autonomous Data Warehouse) services. In earlier versions of Oracle Analytics (OA), it used to require a specific DBaaS (Database as a Service), but that limitation is now removed.

Once you have hosted custom background or custom layers tables in your ADW, all you need is to configure that ADW as a data source in the OAC-MapViewer administration screens. This blog explains how to achieve this.
