It is helpful to think of the elements of art as building blocks. Nearly every piece of art has the intent to communicate a message or evoke emotion, which is why graphic design is a valuable asset in business. Artists and designers use at least two to three elements within any composition. The decisions that they make, in regards to these elements, have a large impact on how a composition is perceived, assessed, and used.
