One of my earliest memories was my mom encouraging me to be the top reader in my class. I remember my teacher telling her, “while Angi isn’t the top reader in the class, and may never be; I can say she is kind and always cares for her peers.” At the time I didn’t know this assessment would become a north star for me, but I’ve learned to embrace the spirit of what this teacher taught us.
Most of my professional experience has been focused in social work, non-profit and service. I’d describe myself as a curious, empathic and adaptable leader. Often finding myself in new and unfamiliar territories; I love a challenge. I thrive in discovery and seek opportunities to solve complex problems. I love strategy- and I love strategizing to help people. I have experience in counseling, crisis prevention training and animal-assisted therapy programs- and I run a photography business in my free time.
In case you’re following to the end- I finally did end up on that top readers list. It didn’t really matter in the long run- {spoiler alert}- but I can say the other things surely did.
