Since 2004, I have been the hands-on President of two consumer multi-media brand companies and President & CEO of the country’s largest state travel industry association. In my prior two President roles as well as my current CEO position I have had bottom line responsibility for strategy, profits, and people. I have driven innovation and top line revenue growth in each of them, while reengineering structure and processes to improve profits and quality.

At each position I have been able to strengthen the leadership position of the brands; launch successful new products, services and media channels; transform business models; create long-term partnerships; reduce operating costs; and build high-performing, high-morale teams with shared goals and strong loyalty.

I have worked with entrepreneur/owners and private equity, as well as large public companies and non-profit organizations and have managed organizations at a distance from corporate owners and boards, been part of close-knit collaborative teams, and built teams from scratch. General Mills, National Geographic, AAA, Rodale Inc. and Time Inc. have also hired me as a strategy, marketing, and content consultant.

What I am most proud of is that at each job, I have been able to build teams who have thrived and I have mentored talented people who have gone on to have highly successful careers. I work hard to bring out the best in people, and believe strongly that the best ideas usually come from those closest to the business.
