As a child, I was obsessed with recording my entire life on my parent's old-school VHS camcorders. Birthday parties, how-to videos, holidays, adventures with friends, and (being a Floridian) even hurricanes – everything needed to be documented. At the time, my parents thought I was obsessed with technology, but in reality, I was obsessed with storytelling.

An obsession became a passion the day I walked into my video production class in high school. This was an entire class dedicated not only to cameras but to editing software, storyboarding, audio, lighting, news, and most importantly, storytelling. Over time, I learned how to tell a compelling story. One with a hook at the beginning to grab the audience's attention, a relatable main character, an arc, and a concluding moral or message that I wanted to impart.

The decision to pursue this passion as a career was an easy one – video production was what I was good at and what I enjoyed, so of course, that’d be my focus when I graduated.

Four years later, I was an alumnus of the University of Florida, and the reality of working in production did not quite reflect what I had envisioned growing up. In general, I like to see the outcomes of my work, to understand why something I created was or wasn’t well-received, and to have some input into what could be better – I like to be analytical and make data-driven decisions. I was restless, and I knew I had more than my creativity to offer.

The question I began asking myself was this: how could I blend my creative skills with my desire for analytical thinking to inform strategy at a higher level while still telling stories?

The answer was not immediately apparent, but a career change and one Master’s degree later, I have found where I belong:

Content Marketing.

I can confidently say I was meant to be in this field.

I've had the pleasure of working most of my content marketing career in the technology and SaaS industry, primarily producing content (written and video) for B2B audiences. My experience ranges from YouTube videos to social media management, blogs, webinars, emails, live events, and organic lead-gen campaigns. I love it all.

Most notably, my passion has evolved – I'm now passionate about storytelling for a product or service I believe can improve another business's operations: no scams, pyramid schemes, deception, or lies. I work for companies that I believe in because, ultimately, what makes a story compelling is the storyteller’s passion.
