Throughout my career, I have held prestigious positions that have shaped me into a multifaceted professional. I served as the Editor-in-Chief of esteemed publications such as Digital Photo Pro, HDVideo Pro, and Digital Photo magazines while contributing as the Technology Editor for Outdoor Photographer. Furthermore, I co-founded PixelShift, a boutique PR firm that proudly served as the agency of record for Sony's Alpha camera division.
With a wealth of experience spanning several decades, I have established myself as a seasoned creator, writer, photographer, book author, content director, YouTuber, and consultant. I am actively engaged as a freelance contributor, lending my expertise to various projects, and I started and ran the technology-focused review YouTube channel Dave Tries This.
Before my current roles, I spearheaded the Aperture Users Network, an Apple-supported professional support organization dedicated to photographers. In this role, I successfully developed and executed international in-person training programs and created educational resources encompassing videos, tutorials, podcasts, and more. Moreover, I was a vital liaison between Apple's Aperture group and influential professional photographers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.
