I love growing and transforming companies.
My experience has taught me five things.
1. Leadership
Transformational leadership is 50% science and 50% art. Good leaders focus on the science of frameworks, models, tools and templates. Great leaders combine the science with art to rapidly transform businesses from ordinary to extraordinary.
2. Data
There are 13 Billion people and things connected to the Internet generating data. Ignoring relevant data costs enterprise millions a day and billions a month. Data driven decisions are critical to attain and maintain a competitive edge.
3. Creativity
There is a dearth of creativity amongst boards and the C suite. Without creativity an adherence to the status quo permeates corporations. A creative culture is an absolute necessity to innovate and disrupt both internally and externally.
4. Execution
A brilliant idea is worthless without flawless execution. This overlooked discipline is definitely the unsung hero of successful companies. Without it businesses waste, wither and die. The omnipresence of flawless execution is a non-negotiable.
5. Winning
Success is certainly difficult, but never lonely. Because teams that are well-formed, complementary, aligned and motivated win every time. A potent team culture formed on a foundation of trust and respect will always lead to victory.
