“Storytellers have been survivors for many centuries”- Yuval Noah Harari. I believe that storytelling has the power to change and make mindsets and is a robust way to build brands.
In my 7-year long career, I have been,
- a founder - founded AkkarBakkar.com which at its peak was amassing 10 mil views/month, and YOSO which was a marketing agency that helped startups tell their stories in the most ingenious ways to their audience - offline and online
- an author - wrote Letters from Kargil in 2017, which was the aftermath of a story I wrote about my father's role in the Kargil war on AkkarBakkar (that went viral in 2015)
- part of the marketing engine at 3 organizations (Features writer at Yahoo! in 2014-2015, Editor-in-chief at Filtercopy in 2016, and most recently headed brand marketing and comms at Invideo.io in 2020-2021)
I am now looking for my next challenge. My mind space is toward finding an opportunity that marries my passion for content with my desire to create max impact.
Currently working on a couple of very cool projects with my service-based company, YOSO Media Pvt. Ltd. In a nutshell, we creative problem solve with you on anything content/brand building/marketing (online/offline) and then build an ecosystem around the project to execute the ideas you deem valuable.
Some significant achievements:
- Inspired over 10k content contributors to write their first story, reached 50 million+ unique readers across the globe
- Launched and monetised multiple storytelling properties in 2018, within a year of launching YOSO Media Pvt. Ltd.
- Attracted 11.4k subscribers on the AkkarBakkar Live channel on YouTube in within 6 months of launch
- Author of “Letters from Kargil: The War Through Our Soldier’s Eyes”, published by Juggernaut Books in 2017.
