James Bayes serves as ANZ General Manager at The Trade Desk, where he oversees all business in Australia and New Zealand, with a particular focus on expanding the Connected TV business and building The Trade Desk’s market footprint.

Prior to joining The Trade Desk, James was National Digital Sales Director at Seven Network (ASX:SWM), one of Australia's largest integrated media companies where he led all aspects of the company's digital commercial operations. In particular he was responsible for launching and and growing Seven's new streaming service (7plus) into a market leading position across data, programmatic, addressable and connected TV.

Prior to Seven, James was Senior Vice President – International Business Development at Unlockd, one of Australia’s fastest growing mobile technology companies. Among Unlockd’s first employees he was a key member of the leadership team that successfully launched 5 international territories and 3 new categories within its first 2 years, growing the team from 5 to 60 across 4 continents. James was tasked with leading the company’s push into new verticals and building international distribution across the Loyalty and Subscription Video categories based in New York.

With almost 20 years experience in senior digital, sales leadership, integration & media agency roles in Australia the UK & US, James is passionate about technology and it’s potential to reinvent the way we engage with audiences.

Prior to Unlockd James was Head of Digital Sales & Operations at ASX listed Southern Cross Austereo (ASX:SXL) with end to end responsibility for commercialising the company's digital assets. During his time with SCA, James led the successful development and rollout of Australia’s first programmatic audio exchange (a2x) in partnership with Triton Digital and helped construct what at the time was regarded as Australia’s most socially engaged media business.
