Janay Smith oversees SHADOW’s Social Media division, with a scope of work that is rooted in storytelling accompanied with analytical and creative thinking. A graduate of Johns Hopkins University with a discipline in psychology and visual arts and the University of Southern California’s Business School, Janay has facilitated content strategies—from visuals to copywriting to community management— for consumer brands across industry categories, across channels — including goop, Miss Grass, Sun Bum & Moroccanoil, and Herschel Supply Co. She has produced original content for others like Brightland, Proclaim, TOMS, and Ramona Wine, re-branded social identities for accounts like Park Lane, and directed social-first campaigns for Google’s newest channel—Shop With Google. Developing a social strategy is not a one-size-fits-all. With her extensive background in fashion, health and wellness, CPG, and media/entertainment, Janay guides clients to develop and execute a unique, social-first point of view.
