When I was growing up, my Dad worked at a school bus factory, where he spent 37 years making school buses. And making a difference.

He cared about his company, his job and his family. He cared about the kids who'd be riding those school buses. And he cared about his team. Not just about their livelihoods but their lives.

He stood for doing the right thing, treating everyone fairly and helping folks become their best. And he believed in doing what you can to make things better.

He was an empathetic leader before that was even a thing. Not because he listened to podcasts or streamed TedTalks. But just because he was.

A simple blue-collar foreman on a school bus assembly line, he was a man who barely made it out of high school and rarely had the opportunity to venture past the city limit sign.

Despite these “limitations,” he made quite an impression on me.

Because of him, I have spent my 35-year career helping companies and their leaders reimagine their relationships with their blue collar employees.

Your employees' work life is my life's work. And I do my best to be the kind of man my Dad was.
