I offer a unique blend of strategic, operational, and financial leadership experience. Throughout my career, I have led industrial companies through transformational changes. Working for both privately held and publicly traded companies ranging in size from $100 million to $7 billion, I have demonstrated the ability to adapt to legacy cultures, while finding opportunities to improve results.
As an accomplished c-suite executive, I am experienced as CEO/President in leading total company operations as well as CFO in leading all financial activities of a business. I effectively balance strategic thinking with hands-on financial and operational expertise to drive growth. I have led numerous digital transformation projects, with a passion for improving processes. I am a collaborative and passionate leader who takes considerable pride in creating winning teams and in mentoring talent.
Currently, I am serving as President of Bassett Mechanical, a $200 million full-service industrial mechanical contractor headquartered in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. I started with Bassett in 2015 as its CFO where I led the accounting, procurement, and IT teams. In 2017, while retaining my CFO duties, I took on an expanded role as General Manager of Bassett’s Service division. In 2019, I was promoted to Chief Operating Officer responsible for leading total company operations. As COO, I drove the transformation of the business, doubling revenue from $100 to $200 million (all organic growth), while improving EBITDA margins. In 2022, I was named the first non-family member President of this 90-year-old family-owned business.
Prior to joining Bassett, I was Vice President of Finance for Oshkosh Defense. Oshkosh Defense, a manufacturer of tactical vehicles for military operations, is a multi-billion segment of Oshkosh Corporation, a Fortune 500 company. At Oshkosh, I directed all estimating, contract management, finance, and compliance functions. I was an integral part of teams that captured and successfully delivered multiple billion-dollar plus long-term defense contracts. It was at Oshkosh where I learned the vital role a finance leader plays in helping a business succeed, serving as a trusted partner with the executive leadership team.
My career started at Arthur Andersen in the audit division, followed by stints at HK Systems (private equity), School Specialty (public), and Oshkosh B’Gosh (public). During this early period in my career, I gained invaluable experience in financial reporting and analysis, treasury, taxation, ERP conversions, and M&A.
