Katya Laviolette is a fully bilingual (English & French) business-oriented people leader with over 25+ years’ experience in talent, culture change, global rewards, organizational effectiveness, real estate operations, health and safety, and M&A.
Katya currently holds the position of Chief People Officer with 1Password, the leader in human-centric security and privacy. Prior to that, she held executive and senior level positions at SSENSE, TC Transcontinental, CBC|Radio-Canada, Rio Tinto, Bombardier and CN. Katya is also a Board Director.
Katya is recognized for her ability to both operate and drive change within various governance structures. She has the innate ability to work within complex structures, with multiple stakeholders, including investors, founders, families and entrepreneurs.
Katya has received a number of awards, including the E.S. Sunley Scholarship in Industrial Relations, the Queen's Graduate Fellowship, the Cameron-Wood Prize in Industrial Relations, and the Queen's University Press Prize. She co-chaired the Governor General's Canadian Leadership Conference, as one of the youngest co-chairs.
Katya is a member of the Ordre des conseillers en ressources humaines agréés (ORHRI) and a certified coach with Integral Coaching Canada.
Katya is actively involved in her community, having served many years on the Board of Pour 3 Points, as well as continuing to mentor women leaders for Gouvernance au Féminin and Monday Girl.
