I am an empathetic educator, an avid learner, and a self-proclaimed word nerd. Since college, I have been fascinated by the intersections of science, technology, and the humanities, and am enthusiastic about professional opportunities in which these oft-distinct disciplines overlap.
During my time as an organizer for a nonprofit, I explored and embraced the power of narratives in connecting people across the globe. As an educator, I've seen the power of learning others' perspectives, and I seek to create opportunities for my students to engage with narratives both similar to and different from their own. As a technical copywriter, I have gained experience writing about scientific and technical information in B2B blogs, often on topics on which I am not an expert (see: writing blogs about packaging machinery as a non-engineer).
I've taken what my college mentor lovingly described as the 'crooked path' throughout my career, and I wouldn't have it any other way. Though these experiences might seem disparate from one another, for me, they are intrinsically connected: each is focused on how storytelling has the power to connect and to compel people.
