From HEROIC Public Speaking to simply 'HEROIC,' the journey Amy Port and I embarked on in 2014 has been nothing short of wondrous. The evolution of our brand mirrors the growth and extraordinary qualities we see in our students and team members—qualities that define the very essence of being HEROIC. As the CEO, my role stretches beyond the traditional confines of leadership and strategy. It's about embodying the vision we have for this organization and steering our ship through calm and stormy waters alike.

Over the years, I've been the primary architect behind the intellectual property that drives the programming at HEROIC. While I've had the privilege of contributing significantly to this aspect, it's the collective brilliance of many minds that have enriched our offerings. Teaching some of our programs has been a source of immense joy for me, though I'm equally thrilled to see our faculty members step in and take the lead, showcasing the depth of talent within our ranks.

In reflecting on my journey and the essence of my role, I hope I demonstrate:

- A commitment to our mission and values that's both deep-seated and visible in my actions.
- Resilience, viewing each mistake as a stepping stone to greater wisdom.
- An ability to communicate our vision and inspire those around me to rally towards it.
- Strategic thinking and adaptability, navigating through challenges with a clear eye on our long-term goals.
- Leadership that prioritizes collaboration, inclusivity, and the fostering of an environment where every team member can flourish.
- A dedication to holding myself and others accountable to our promises and the high expectations we set, ensuring integrity in every action.
- A commitment to upholding the highest ethical and moral standards, setting an example for our team and ensuring that our collective behavior reflects the principles upon which HEROIC was founded.

I won't be in my role forever. I believe strongly there there are people who will do a better job at leading HEROIC than I do. When that time comes, I believe the future leaders of HEROIC should not only display these attributes but also bring to the table skills and perspectives that I may not possess. It's in this diversity of thought and approach that HEROIC will continue to grow and evolve.
