I'm a multidisciplinary design leader, systems thinker, and illustrator with a knack for mentoring and community building. I’m inspired by the future and what could be. I have 12+ yrs experience in the design/tech industry and have been doing illustration for over 25 yrs.
I use strategy and inclusivity to create thoughtful products and experiences that add value to people's lives. I have a background in shipping v1 products & services from ideation to launch and inventing processes and frameworks that have a successful track record of delivering results with significant impact on the customer's experience and workplace. I've managed teams, led large horizontal UX strategy and design direction across a suite of products, and have gone deep on many cutting-edge vertical experiences. I raise the bar by showing up, insisting on the highest standards, caring about the details, and leading by example. Information and application architecture, interaction design, visual storytelling and illustration, planning, process, ops, and creating workback strategies to execute blue sky product visions are my specialties. I'm certified in Agile Scrum development and have worked in a variety of different-sized teams and organizational structures from big tech to startups.
As a Principal Product Designer at Outreach, I spearheaded the first horizontal UX program that drove initiatives across the platform, designed enterprise growth features for AEs, sales leaders, and their customers, helped launch Success Plans, and influenced the design strategy for Guide, the deal mgmt suite of products. I also was a workgroup member of the Rainbow-ERG and Latinx-ERG Adelante.
As a Director of Product Design at MedBridge I managed a team of designers and led product & org mgmt strategy, design ops, leadership, & process across 5 health product verticals.
At Amazon, I pioneered the first v1 multimodal device Echo Show which also won a UX award, shipped 7 additional multimodal products with Alexa, was a UX career mentor, & co-founded many company-wide community programs around design, culture, & diversity during my tenure.
I've mentored 100+ people across seniority interested in career development and UX including students from Designation’s UIUX immersive bootcamp, SVC, and the University of Washington. I've also mentored for Hexagon UX Seattle chapter, Amazon, and through my own design business. I enjoy giving talks at meetups and on podcasts about leadership, career development, and UX expertise.
