I believe that the workplace is a mission field to use our strengths and maximize our lives. We spend the majority of our waking hours working. When we are energized and empowered by our work, we show up as a better version of ourselves in all areas of our lives (the opposite is also true). I believe that CEOs, and all levels of leaders, are the catalysts to make change on this topic. My passion is devoted to employee engagement/employee experience. Longstanding statistics say that 70% of employees are not engaged in their work. The result of this is lack of meaningful life, high turnover and low productivity. Both individual humans and businesses lose when meaningful work experience is not in the equation. In my mid twenties, I realized my passion for workplace engagement. This started with my “Loving Mondays” keynote and “Love What You Do” weekly inspirational messages. Since then, I have been working on this mission in various capacities like growing people first technology companies, podcasting and building relationships with people who share my current mission: "Do Meaningful Work. Live Meaningful Life."
Today, I am focused on growing the PeopleForward Network. We inspire and empower leaders on a people-first leadership journey to crush it!
As a huge fan of the city I was born and continue to live, Indianapolis, I love staying plugged in through the Rainmakers community. I started working at Rainmakers, a relationship driven business development organization, in 2006 and purchased the company and rebranded in 2013. We’ve got an incredible team and incredible mission to impact connectivity and small business growth in Indianapolis.
Philanthropy is a big deal to me. I try to weave it into every area of my life. Currently, I serve on two boards, Thrivent Financial and Purposeful Living INC. I serve at Brookside Community and am passionate about their amazing christian mission.
I am in relentless pursuit of a full, amazing life. I use the life wheel on the daily to guide what I say hell yes or hell no to ;)
