Not only do I have a degree in Social Sciences, emphasizing psychology and sociology, but I am also fortunate enough to have excellent communication skills. I have performed on stage, television and radio.
I have found that it is important to be able to explain ideas to both pure technical people, as well as to non-technically minded people. To that end I have studied management, accounting, marketing and so forth, as well as programming and other IT specific classes. I feel it is a vital asset to a company to have people that understand what other departments actually do, and how they do it. And above all, the ability to listen, and take on new ideas!
I helped build ElasticHosts from a startup of three people to the successful winner of a Deloitte Fastest Growing Business award, and now run three separate teams, totaling about 50 direct and indirect reports for three separate GoDaddy brands.
