I was a teacher for just over a decade and have spent that time building my skills as a presenter and public speaker. There's no tougher audience than teenagers, except for maybe the parents of students you're teaching, and I've spoken extensively to both. I know what it's like to work under pressure, under tight deadlines, and to create beneficial situations for all stakeholders so everyone comes out feeling like they won.
All my professional experience is bringing me to the world of developer relations. As an Education Evangelist, I focused on helping educators around the world learn how GitLab can be used to help prepare Computer Science and Information Science students for the working world ahead of them. I made creative content with target audiences of developers just starting their learning journey and educators that are teaching those students. I now am a Developer Community Manager for ProjectDiscovery, an OSS vulnerability scanner, and am bringing the passion I had for the classroom to the community space.
Pj loves 80’s music, including modern music that sounds like it was made in the 80s, 90’s internet culture, and poetry. He led poetry reading events for GitLab team members and participated often in the Latinx, Pride, and Black @ Gitlab Team Member Resource Groups. Currently, you can find him on Twitch a few times each month learning about new languages or making Dicsord bots.
