Raj Yavatkar is the Chief Technology Officer of Juniper Networks. In this role, Raj is responsible for charting Juniper's technology strategy and for leading and executing the company’s critical technology innovations and products in intelligent self-driving network, security, Mobile Edge Cloud, network virtualization, packet-optical integration and hybrid cloud.
As a technology and products pioneer (60+ patents, 60+ publications) throughout his career, Raj has envisioned how emerging technologies can be applied to creatively solve enterprise and business problems ahead of the competitors and have helped establish new product lines.
For example, at VMware, he ideated a new product concept to address the private/hybrid cloud markets by defining VMware Cloud Foundation (the easiest way to deploy/manage a virtual private cloud), led a large product team through release for $130M in Y-1 alone. The revenue growth has fueled a 2019 run rate of 1/2 Billion Dollars.
During his various leadership roles at Intel for 18 years, he was responsible for driving new product and R&D initiatives in many areas of software incl., networking, virtualization, and manageability, and SoC.
At Google (GCP), led a team to deliver Cloud Networking infrastructure software and products for Google Cloud customers.
Throughout his career, Raj's focus has been to develop market-leading innovations and breakthroughs, to make a business case for them, organize and lead large teams to spearhead their market launch, and preempt competition to conquer market leadership. This mantle required Raj to not just focus on technology and products, but also on the markets, competition, business growth, team leadership, and optimum resource management.
