Sarah Chavarria

Sarah Chavarria is the President of Delta Dental of California and its enterprise affiliates including Delta Dental Insurance Company, Delta Dental of New York, Inc., and Delta Dental of Pennsylvania, which operate in 15 states, the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. Sarah who previously served as executive vice president and chief people officer for Delta Dental of California, oversees all aspects of key organizational functions including Operations, People, Growth and Technology.

Sarah brings more than 30 years of expertise leading people, communications, organizational effectiveness, change management and corporate strategy across multiple industries. Prior to Delta Dental, Sarah was Chief People Officer at NantHealth. She also served in a similar role at Optum360, a joint venture between Optum and Dignity Health, and was Vice President of Human Resources at Dignity Health. In addition, Sarah has held organizational transformation positions at Oracle, Medibuy and Levi Strauss.

Sarah has received several accolades for her inclusive and transformational leadership including, “Women Worth Watching in Leadership in 2022” by Profiles in Diversity Journal, “The Bay Area’s Most 100 Influential Women in Business 2021,” by the San Francisco Business Times, “The Top 50 Women Leaders of San Francisco for 2022” and “Outstanding Mothers of 2022”by Women We Admire.”

Sarah received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at El Paso. She holds certifications in the General Electric Change Acceleration process, the Myers & Briggs Foundation and the Connor Change Model.
