Brief History: After a year of driving a full-sized school bus to two dozen cities (story in the Experience section of my profile), I spent a dozen years leading marketing teams inside local television stations in Grand Rapids (MI), Chicago, and Colorado Springs. As boredom with the work crept in, I earned an MBA and did project work for a variety of companies to explore interests and identify transferrable skills. In that process, I connected deeply with the team and mission of a bootstrapped software startup, BombBomb. When I joined BombBomb, we had fewer than 10 employees. Since then, we've enjoyed +2,000% growth in team size, +32,000% growth in customer size, and +52,000% growth in revenue. We're a team of 125 people (based in downtown Colorado Springs but also distributed) who are on a mission to rehumanize people who've been dehumanized by system or circumstance; we're funding the effort by helping people rehumanize their business communication with video email and video messages. I've now spent a decade helping people enjoy clearer communication, human connection, and higher conversion by replacing some of their faceless, digital communication with simple, personal video messages in emails, text messages, LinkedIn messages, Slack messages, and similar. My business card might say "Client Success Manager at Pyx Health", but I like to describe my job as, "making best friends and changing lives." I always thought I'd grow up to be a veterinarian with a huge mansion that could house every stray animal in the world. When economics means nothing to you, anything is possible. Obviously, this dream never came true (curse you, allergies - yes, allergies was the reason - not the mansion), it awakened an important realization that no matter what I do, the ability to help, care for, and nurture MUST be a part of everything I do. So, I set out on a mission - make an impact everywhere you go. I spent most of my career in the trenches of sales and marketing, using my own personal testimony to relate and build long-lasting personal and professional relationships and strengths. I found that no matter where I went, it was the personal connection that mattered most to me. I CRAVED it. I sold cell phones and mastered the art of turning things off and then on again with Verizon, catered to the sleep-deprived at Starbucks, decided that selling cars outside in Arizona during the summer was a great idea (spoiler - it's not), dove head-first into the AZ startup world selling healthcare tech and training platforms with RexPay (now Rivia Health) and Journeyage, but continually found myself on a journey of rediscovery and seeking further enlightenment and challenges. It wasn't until April of 2021 that I found the spark I'd been seeking my entire life, the ability to use each of my superpowers and truly make an impact on countless lives in the moments they need it most. I found Pyx Health - a tech-enabled, human-driven solution for loneliness and social isolation designed to offer hope when all feels lost, to encourage change in those that believe a "normal" day is one where they have to fight alone. Together, with incredible and passionate healthcare teams, we strategize who needs us most and where we can cast out the shadows that haunt our most vulnerable populations and those struggling with mental health. We get to watch, with actual data, people across the country become less lonely, less isolated, and more self-supported day to day.
