I'm all about
Figuring out how to build a company where people love to work
Serving customers who canāt imagine life without us
Living, finding and teaching a Scared Confident culture and
Disrupting the way marketing has always been done
CGO @ A1M. Award-Winning Marketer Obsessed with Building Systems. Co-Host of Marketers Talking. Mediocre Call of Duty Player.
It all started in 1995 when my grandpa bought a copy machine and I started making counterfeit bills with my classmates pictures where the dead presidents should be. I sold them for $2 a piece or 3 for $5 until the school shut it down and I switched to selling mix tapes before moving onto building geocities sites for local businesses.
Some kids grew up playing with dolls or legos; I grew up playing business.
My most profitable childhood venture was mowing the neighbors lawns - I later learned that this was partially because my grandfather was fertilizing their yards while they were at work. This was before Nest and Ring when the only home security was the stay-at-home parents in the neighborhood and they didn't snitch on each other.
I had an unconventional childhood which left me with a strong sense of purpose and confidence that I could conquer anything I chose, regardless of my experience or expertise in an area, as long as I work hard.
This led me to be the first-in-the-family to do a lot of things; starting college part time at 15, moving to Italy at 16 for a year abroad, launching and selling a company in my early 20s, moving from a 7,200 person town to NYC to work in VC-backed startups, publishing a book, selling another company, being on tv, speaking at conferences around the country, grad school, and more.
Nearly 3 decades after my first (childhood) entrepreneurial venture I'm still in the business of building businesses and love it.
Today I run A1M with one of my oldest marketing friends who I met on Twitter in the early 2010s. We split our time between advising high-growth SaaS startups and founders, working directly with clients to drive revenue through adoption of AI and robust, automation systems, and producing content to help make good marketing more accessible for all.
Customer/Client Services | 20+ years with a passion for employee engagement | CO native, community advocate
A Colorado native who is deeply passionate about her city, I have had the privilege of supporting numerous businesses in the area with their customer and client needs. I firmly believe in prioritizing the well-being of others above my own, a value that is evident in my work in multiple ways.
During my tenure at T. Rowe Price, I discovered my passion for employee engagement through nurturing the needs of our internal clients, and our employees. I firmly believe that happy and healthy employees are the key to a thriving organization, and I have made it my mission to carry this mindset wherever I go.
At Ford Motor Credit, I prioritized the needs of my customers and book of business, but employee engagement also held great importance to me. I planned and executed various site-wide events, including carnivals, holiday celebrations, and award ceremonies. However, the fun didn't stop there.
Upon joining United Health Care, I witnessed firsthand the crucial importance of taking care of employees, particularly those facing health challenges. To address this, I created a site-wide newsletter, implemented an employee recognition program, organized food days and family events, and more. As a Communication Specialist, I forged strong partnerships with local businesses and reported directly to the leadership team and decision-makers at United Health Care. I oversaw a team of over 35 employees, ensuring smooth operations and managing various project responsibilities. Tracking financial transactions and providing consistent employee feedback were also key components of my role.
In 2020, when remote work became the new norm, I had to adapt and pivot. Recognizing the significance of maintaining a human connection in the virtual space, I joined BombBombāa company dedicated to bringing humanity back to our daily communications. In my current role, I help businesses and their employees establish genuine connections through video communication. Despite working remotely, I have continued to pursue my passion for employee engagement, leveraging various avenues to foster meaningful connections, whether face-to-face or in front of a screen.

š The scene: The Devilās Cauldron waterfall in BaƱos, Ecuador
š§ The cast: Me, a bridge attendant, and a kind stranger
š¤ The problem: I wanted to get a photo of the Devilās Cauldron waterfall from the perfect angle . . . but had to cross a long rickety wooden bridge to get there, and I have a terrible fear of heights and fast-moving water (and I canāt swim, either).
š The resolution:
So, I was standing on rope-and-wooden plank bridge suspended over a stunning, raging waterfall called The Devilās Cauldron. Every time I would try to take five steps forward, my heart would practically beat out of my chest and I would take four steps back.
After 20 minutes, the bridge attendant asked me what the problem was. I explained my fear of heights and that I was afraid to cross.
He asked if I would cross if someone went over with me. I shrugged my shoulders, doubtful that anyone would want to help a random stranger cross a crowded bridge on a scorching Sunday.
Just a few moments later, the bridge attendant walked over a with a man in a yellow jacket who was grinning from ear to ear. The man took my hand and tried to soothe my nerves with jokes as we walked over the bridge. In what we seemed like no time at all (and after my heart nearly pounded out of my chest), we had crossed the bridge and I was able to taken in a breathtaking view of the waterfall.
